Upper and Lower GI Endoscopy

Upper endoscopy is a procedure that enables the examiner to examine the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum using a thin, flexible tube called the upper endoscope with a camera on the tip through which the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum can be viewed using a TV monitor.

Lower GI endoscopy allows your healthcare provider to view your lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Your entire colon and rectum can be examined (colonoscopy). Or just the rectum and sigmoid colon can be examined
